Az ENSZ Élelmezésügyi és Mezőgazdasági Szervezete (FAO) júniusban megjelent rövid távú előrevetítése szerint a juhhús globális termelése közel 16,5 millió tonna lehet 2021-ben, ami 1 százalékos emelkedést jelent a 2020-ban termelt mennyiséghez képest. A juhhús a világ hústermelésének csaknem 5 százalékát teheti ki az idei évben. A világ juhhústermelésének 82 százaléka ázsiai és afrikai országokból származik.
