Az éghajlatváltozással járó szélsőséges időjárási és hőmérsékleti viszonyok következtében egyre jobban felerősödik a kockázata az új – Magyarország jelenlegi éghajlati viszonyai között még nem előforduló – kórokozók, humán- és állatbetegségek, valamint járványok megjelenésének. A klímaváltozás kapcsán fentieken túl a hazai gyepterületeket érintő hatásokkal, takarmány-ellátási, valamint adaptációs kihívásokkal is számolni kell.
