Szeptember 11-én, életének 76. évében itt hagyott bennünket prof. dr. Kovács András aranydiplomás állatorvos, egyetemi tanár, az MTA doktora. Szerteágazó munkássága miatt egyaránt gyászolja Őt a szaporodásbiológia, az állatorvos-tudomány, a biotechnológiai és cytogenetikai kutatás, az állattenyésztési genetika és kynológia. Amibe belefogott, abban zseniális meglátásai voltak. Minden szakterületen maradandót alkotott.
Halálával ismét szegényebbek lettünk.
